An Improved Deterministic Parameterized Algorithm for Cactus Vertex Deletion

چکیده

A cactus is a connected graph that does not contain K4 − e as minor. Given G = (V,E) and an integer k ≥ 0, Cactus Vertex Deletion (also known Diamond Hitting Set) the problem of deciding whether has vertex set size at most whose removal leaves forest cacti. The previously best deterministic parameterized algorithm for this was due to Bonnet et al. [WG 2016], which runs in time 26knO(1), where n number vertices G. In paper, we design Deletion, 17.64knO(1). As almost straightforward application our algorithm, also give 17.64knO(1)-time Even Cycle Transversal, improves previous running 50knO(1) Misra 2012].

A Parameterized Algorithm for Bounded-Degree Vertex Deletion

The d-bounded-degree vertex deletion problem, to delete at most k vertices in a given graph to make the maximum degree of the remaining graph at most d, finds applications in computational biology, social network analysis and some others. It can be regarded as a special case of the (d+2)-hitting set problem and generates the famous vertex cover problem. The d-bounded-degree vertex deletion prob...

Deterministic Parameterized Connected Vertex Cover

In the Connected Vertex Cover problem we are given an undirected graph G together with an integer k and we are to find a subset of vertices X of size at most k, such that X contains at least one end-point of each edge and moreover X induces a connected subgraph. For this problem we present a deterministic algorithm running in O(2n) time and polynomial space, improving over previously best O(2.4...

Improved Parameterized Upper Bounds for Vertex Cover

This paper presents an O(1.2738 + kn)-time polynomialspace parameterized algorithm for Vertex Cover improving the previous O(1.286+kn)-time polynomial-space upper bound by Chen, Kanj, and Jia. The algorithm also improves the O(1.2745k+kn)-time exponentialspace upper bound for the problem by Chandran and Grandoni.

An improved parameterized algorithm for the independent feedback vertex set problem

In this paper, we develop a new parameterized algorithm for the Independent Feedback Vertex Set (IFVS) problem. Given a graph G = (V,E), the goal of the problem is to determine whether there exists a vertex subset F ⊆ V such that V − F induces a forest in G and F is an independent set. We show that there exists a parameterized algorithm that can determine whether a graph contains an IFVS of siz...

Parameterized complexity dichotomy for $(r,\ell)$-Vertex Deletion

For two integers r, l ≥ 0, a graph G = (V,E) is an (r, l)graph if V can be partitioned into r independent sets and l cliques. In the parameterized (r, l)-Vertex Deletion problem, given a graph G and an integer k, one has to decide whether at most k vertices can be removed from G to obtain an (r, l)-graph. This problem is NP-hard if r+l ≥ 1 and encompasses several relevant problems such as Verte...
